Finally， I went to watch the World Cup game， Japan vs. Brazil. I thought I have to see our team trying hard. I asked my friend which sports bar is good， and he recommended the one named Nevada Smith. My roommate Kenji and I went to the bar in East Village that is famous for the telecast of soccer matches， but it turned out there so many sports bar where Japan’s game is showing.
As we got into the bar， we saw a crowd of Japanese and Brazilian. A Japanese guy alone， a Brazilian group， a Japanese girl and her American boyfriend in Japanese uniform， and so on. We got beer， and took part in the cheer.
The first goal made by Japan drove us crazy， but as you know， that was the only scene we were glad. At that moment， I was about to cry， though. I am not a big soccer fan or anything， but the air moved me. Brazil apparently changed after Japan shook the net. Heigh-ho. Anyway they did their best， I believe. I clapped my hands when the game was over.
After that， I did the initial rehearsal of the new scene for the acting class with Jamey. It is from the play “Lend Me a Tenor (レンド・ミー・ア・テナー)” by Ken Ludwig， the author of “Crazy for You”. It is another comic scene， but my character is a bit different from the ones that I have done. I mean， if there are two characters， weak guy and strong guy， Loraine always cast me as the weak one. In this time， however， she gave me the strong-guy role， which should be interesting to do.
Jamey is a native-English speaker， and so with him， I find my English really sucks. Whenever I start a scene， I struggle with my English a lot， but today I felt more terrible than I do with the other international students like myself. In addition， I’ve got some long lines that make me panicked. Need practice.
