5月23日　睡眠時間がインポッシブル。で、M．I．3．

Sunny， lovely.

I cannot help sleeping in these days， and today also I overslept. It was the early afternoon when I woke up. The alarm clock had been cut out and I have no memory of that. Fortunately， I don’ have any class on Tuesday， so it was not too bad， but I still regret it.

Went to the Lincoln Center to watch the video of an off-Broadway musical “The last Five Years”， which was acted by only one actress and one actor. It have to be hard to make one-and-half hour musical with only two actors， but in addition， there was only one scene where two of them acted together.

They acted alternately， and the story developed in two ways; the man’s story was developed along the time， and the woman’s was developed in opposite way. The story is about their relationship， from the beginning to the end. The man starts the storytelling from the beginning， five years ago， and the woman starts from the end of the relationship， which is the present. That’s why they acted together only one scene， the middle point， which was the wedding.

We can see it from many angles， which makes the simple story so agonizing. We know they are gonna split up， so it is also so sad to watch the happy scenes. In the last part， the woman is of course in the scene of the beginning of their relationship and she looks so happy， but the more she looks happy， the more we audience feel sad. In the last scene， both of them say the line “Good bye”， but those good byes are really different; one has the future， the other has the past. That was great ending.

After the video， I went see the movie “Mission Impossible ?”. I heard it was not bad at all， and that was true. It was pretty good， at least much better than part two， in which the character of Nathan was totally different to me. I loved the actress Maggie Q who has Vietnamese blood; she was so cute. My roommate Kenji didn’t understand me， though.

It was easy to see， the story was not very complicated. The action scenes are so thrilling as usual. An addition， it had much more playful scenes by the creator. Thus， I think it is kind of well made as an entertainment. I push it.

It is already 1am， hope I can wake up tomorrow.
