Sunny.
In today’s acting class, an old Chinese (?) student was performing. She and her partner were making a funny scene, and they succeeded to make it funny. Include the teacher, everyone laughed a lot.
After the scene, however, the teacher threw her acting away. She scolded her. I was expecting she would admire her, I guess so did everyone, and even so does herself, so I got surprised. She claimed that the student’s acting was not real, because she put emphasis on making it funny.
I think this is a kind of difficult problem, though. If the drama is made in order to make laughs, the way of acting should be changed like that, shouldn’t it? I think each play must have the best way to approach, so we actors should adjust our style into that.
In this case, however, I am not sure, because I am not sure the whole story of the play, and I am not sure the nuance of the scene perfectly,,,,,in English. I don’ know, but as far as I was watching today’s part, I think their ways of approaching are not so bad. Anyway they made us laugh. After all, how audience feels is the last stop of the line “Drama”.
Flexibility of the acting.
